Data Integration is key to improving efficiency in a healthcare operation; however, we see countless organizations utilizing multiple interface engines, sharing data without appropriate data governance and ignoring broken interfaces. In many cases organizations have their fingers crossed, because the details of the countless different interfaces have long been lost to the organization because of staff or vendor changes.
MICA Health can help! We have years of experience in optimizing and documenting simple to complex integrations. We are vendor agnostic when it comes to interfaces, and we focus on getting the project goals and guiding principles established upfront with the client, so that the project doesn’t get mired down. Most project begin with pulling the documentation that exists together, identifying the gaps and gathering that information through exploration. Once the Current State is known, we can begin on an optimization plan. Unless it is the simplest of projects, the optimization plan will be divided into phases with tollgates. The tollgates allow both MICA Health and the client the opportunity to compartmentalize the project, and ensure that the project is staying on track and on budget. We have found that a phased/tollgate approach to integration optimization is important to the overall success of the project.
The completed optimization project will include a fully documented Optimized State, monitoring and remediation protocols. Once the integrations are optimized, detecting errors, and remediating them is quick. With this ability comes a new willingness to sharing data both inside the organization and with local partners.
MICA Health can help with HL-7 (including FLIR), X-12, and DICOM optimization and development of new integrations.
